A folder can look tidy and still hide the document you need. Names such as receipt-final and bio-final say little about what is inside, whether another file is identical, or which version you should keep.

In this practice scenario, you want to retrieve bicycle warranty evidence, both versions of a job application biography, and a hiking checklist from eight supplied files. AI can read the small set, suggest useful categories, and repeat a checked copying operation. You decide what you need to find, which evidence justifies each suggestion, and when a proposed change is ready to run.

You first turn “tidy my files” into a bounded request. Then you inspect the proposed destinations and distinguish identical content, different revisions, and an unresolved note. Finally, you review an actual practice copy operation, check the result against the originals, and see how to withdraw the working copy. The result is an organized practice set with a traceable mapping and an explicit unresolved item.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to connect my own storage account?

No. The beginner path uses supplied synthetic file contents and a recorded execution on those files. No personal account connection, upload, or shell command is required. The course interactions replay the practice task; they do not operate on your computer.

Can I use the method on my own files later?

Yes. Start with a small copied set whose contents you are comfortable sharing with your chosen tool. Use your own retrieval goals and review the proposed changes before any file operation. A chat that only produces text can help with the plan; carrying it out requires a separate file-capable tool or your own file manager.

Will this course decide which files I can delete?

No. You will learn to distinguish exact duplicates from revisions and to preserve uncertain items. The practice run retains all eight originals and all eight corresponding copies, including the duplicate. Deciding what to delete is outside this task.
